Erb Mennonite Church - Are You Sure You're on the Right Road? - Matthew 7:13,14

Our Life Values

We are a community of believers striving to be faithful to God and His Word in belief and practice.

We are a part of the worldwide fellowship of those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ.

We believe that our church is a living, vital part of Christ’s Body as it ministers Christ’s love, healing, and grace to all.

We seek to express the fruit of the Holy Spirit in all of life as we walk in humility before God and man.

We attempt to develop in our daily lives spiritual disciplines of worship, Bible study and prayer.

We will pursue a life of love and peace towards everyone.

We believe in the permanency of marriage, which involves one man and one woman in a covenant relationship for life.

We support the headship principle as set forth in scripture which is submitting to God ordained authority in our lives. We endeavor to develop strong Christian family values by faithfully fulfilling our Biblical roles within the family.

We are committed to upholding the sanctity of all human life and will by God’s grace do all we can to preserve, rather than destroy life.

We take seriously the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations. We are committed to sharing our faith in Christ diligently by word and example in our relationships.

We endeavor to regularly pray for and encourage those who are called to give leadership in the church.

We desire to exercise love, patience and forgiveness within the fellowship while giving and receiving encouragement, warning and rebuke.

We demonstrate care for our brothers and sisters in Christ by praying and helping during times of sickness and distress.

We accept all of life as a trust of stewardship from God. We will joyfully give of our time, talents, money and possessions to the ministry and mission of the church.

We strive to live in a way that will bring no reproach on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ or His bride, the church.

Our Beliefs

We believe in Almighty God.

He is the creator of all things, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in Jesus Christ, who is our Savior and Lord.

He is the only Son of God, born of a virgin and gave His life by death on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice for sin. He arose from the dead defeating sin and death.

Only through confession of our sin and belief in Jesus is there reconciliation with God, who by grace saves our soul. We believe that water baptism symbolizes that God cleanses us from sin when we come to faith in Jesus.

We anticipate the day of Christ's triumphant Second Coming. At that time He will judge both the living and the dead, as the faithful will eternally reside in Heaven with God. All those who reject Him as Lord will be eternally separated from God in Hell.

We believe in the Holy Spirit.

His indwelling presence empowers the church, is the source of our life in Christ, and is poured out on those who believe as the guarantee of redemption.

We believe the Holy Scriptures are God's inspired, authoritative and infallible written Word for all mankind.

By the grace of God we submit to its authority and allow it to guide our daily living.
